![]() Whoever is running their company should be fired because, once people realize how crappy this company has become, they will have ruined any good faith they had built up over the years. MetLife used to be known as a good dental insurance company but, now, they are but a shadow of their former selves. This should be illegal, as it's definitely immoral, but this is another one of their "corporate policies". They overpaid my daughter's orthodontist who, according to MetLife, wouldn't give them the overpayment money back and, rather take the orthodontist to claims, they decided that they are going to stop paying for her dental cleanings until they get the money back from us even though we had nothing to do with the overpayment. They will also go after you, the consumer, if they make a mistake and overpay your orthodontist or dentist. It's clear to me that MetLife Dental prioritizes policy technicalities over the health and well-being of their customers. Their practices have caused not only financial strain but also significant stress and frustration. In conclusion, I strongly advise against choosing MetLife Dental as your insurance provider. Numerous complaints here on Consumer Affairs highlight a pattern of claim denials and poor customer service from MetLife. ![]() I've discovered that my experience is not unique. The final denial, based on the frequency limitation, seemed arbitrary and unfair. The claim was then denied again, this time due to the need for X-ray evidence, which was also provided. Initially, the claim was denied due to a coding error, which was rectified by my dentist's office. The handling of my claim was inconsistent and frustrating. However, MetLife rejected my appeal, leaving me to bear the financial burden of a procedure that should have been covered by my insurance. I appealed the decision, providing all necessary documentation and explaining the medical necessity of the procedure.
